GATEWAY AMERICA 5 COLLEGE PROSPECT PROGRAM
Gateway America 5's College Prospect Program was started by Eric Schifferdecker, Gateway America Sports President and former 15-year Pro Scout. He served as vice-president of the Major League Scout's Association from 1996-2000. His experience offers the player maximum exposure to a network of scouts and college coaches. Other staff involved in the program include Lee Thomas, former GM, Philadelphia Phillies, 8-year Major League playing career; Joe Thurman, 25-year Pro Scout with White Sox, Tigers, and Twins; and Keith Sanders, 14-year Assoc. Pro Scout with Atlanta Braves; and Sam Carol, Head Baseball Coach, Jefferson Junior College.

OBJECTIVE: To maximize the player's exposure to college coaches throughout the Midwest through clinics, showcases, and private instruction, followed by personal contact with college coaches to market the player's potential.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE: The program is for High School Sophomores and Juniors.


WHAT'S INCLUDED:
  • Participation in two weekend showcases with exposure to college coaches and pro scouts. (June 24-28 and August 2009 (date TBD))
  • Player profile, including video, which will be e-mailed to college coaches
  • Six private instruction sessions
  • Personal contact on behalf of player with college coaches
